Celebrating 120 years: See how our past is shaping our future

In 1895, machinist and visionary entrepreneur Abe Zimmerman started New Holland with a passion to “find a better way.” One hundred and twenty years later, New Holland continues to be a leader in innovation. Join us each month as we take you through New Holland’s incredible history and learn how Abe’s spirit of collaboration and excellence still drives our company forward today.

PAST When a 26-year-old journeyman machinist named Abe Zimmerman opened a small engine repair shop in 1895, no one could have predicted what that shop would become over the next 120 years — or even the next 10 years.

What fueled that growth was Abe’s reputation as a man who knew his way around an engine and a man who also knew how to make his customers happy. The goal of New Holland in those early years was to provide solutions that would make its customers’ work more productive. After more than a century, it’s a goal that has truly stood the test of time.

PRESENT/FUTURE The entrepreneurial spirit and ingenuity that helped Abe Zimmerman build the first freeze-proof engine is the same ingenuity that has helped countless New Holland SMART farmers around the world — farmers like Jordan Kambeitz, who turned a five-generation farm in Saskatchewan, Canada, into a 20,000-acre success story.

Jordan’s goal was simple: he needed the largest and highest-capacity equipment, and through his relationship with New Holland dealer, Markusson, he got it. New Holland’s partnership with Kambeitz Farms is made possible by our OnPoint! Dealer Standards program, which empowers our dealer network to be better prepared to partner with next generation customers like Jordan.
